First - You’ve probably heard this a million times, but you’re not alone. Not many people know this, but I suffer from anxiety and PTSD myself. So I also have fits of panic attacks and depression from my S.A.D. There is something you can do.
I carry rose quartz with me, it helps to calm me when I start feeling anxious, I use it like a worry stone. I also mediate as often as possible and ground myself whenever possible as well. These things, mixed with the rose quartz and therapy (Professional and just talking to trusted friends) have gotten me to point where I have panic attacks rarely and my depression can be abated.
I really do recommend talking to someone when you feel this way, getting outside and into the sunlight really helps as well. I also find that when I pray to the Goddess and to Odin, my patron, that I feel calmer too.
Always remember to breathe.
You will be alright…just believe in that. And I am always here if/when you need to reach out to someone who may just understand.
Blessed Be Sister )O(
medical professional should come before rose quartz here. seriously.
Docs before rocks.
"I really do recommend talking to someone when you feel this way"
I’m sorry, did you guys stop reading halfway through the post?
it seems like you misread what I said, actually.
I said “medical professional should come before rose quartz”. I didn’t state anything about it missing, I said it should come first. before rose quartz, possibly even before “I sympathize with you”. that was the context I was speaking on, you seemed to misinterpret that.
but honestly, you asked someone how to solve your problem and they went in depth on how you should pray to Jesus and then said as an afterthought on how you should talk to someone (friend or therapy, of course!), wouldn’t you go off on them?
the OP goes into serious detail on how they use their rose quartz to calm them down, and says only as an afterthought to talk to a therapist and that should be mixed with the rose quartz. that’s where I had an issue.
this sort of thing sounds like it’s seriously impacting their life, and they need more than detail on how to use a crystal. if you’re going to therapy for it, why not explain how to locate and talk to the therapist about it? talk to your insurance about your therapy options? hell, let the therapist know you’re interested in new age ways to deal with this along with medical aid. while it’s not something I support, it’s better than “well use a rose quartz, here’s how you do it. also therapy”.
that was my problem, not my reading comprehension. though, you may need a little refresher, it seems.
If I came to a pastor for answers on how to deal with something, I would fully expect to receive a religious answer before a medical one. Likewise, when approaching a Wicca blog for answers to a problem, you are not asking for medical advice. The asker mentioned using jade and cleansing it with sea salt, and afterward asked for further advice. That implies a desire for an answer related to that, not “maybe you should talk to a doctor”. Absolutely this person should go talk to a therapist before trying anything else, but that is -not- the advice they asked for.
Is OP a Wiccan High Priest/ess? then the example you gave doesn’t make sense. because I did not say a pastor, I just said someone, which is what I assumed the relationship was between OP and the asker.
yeah they may not be a medical blog, I’m not either. but if someone sent to the blog “I’ve been having serious panic attacks just involving every day life is there a demon I should summon for that?” (and we have received questions like this), I explain medical options first. because I understand very, very well that when you’re having panic attacks, magic is not always the answer. it can be sometimes for some people, but you can’t just put that to the side, ESPECIALLY if you’ve had experience within therapy for something similar. Like I said — if you’ve experienced this, your experience is still valid on a blog that may not be about that. besides, I don’t exactly know many therapy blogs.
they said, exactly, “what would you suggest to help me”. and as I said, medical advice should come before rose quartz. not only because using a rose quartz is not scientifically proven and studied to alleviate these things while getting prescribed medication is, but because we can see that the asker has tried using crystals before. in fact, it looks as though they’re very studious about using this crystal. what would make you think “I know! let me suggest a different crystal”. it sounds like the asker already has a strong bond with the jade necklace, even if you wanted to stick to new-age based aid, why not move onto something else? hell, I’d suggest attending yoga classes before I’d suggest rose quartz. but I’d still say, even though this is not a medical blog and I am not a medical professional, that it looks as though they may need to start going to a therapist before anything else.
because that’s the most important thing here. this person’s health could very well be on the line, along with their safety, and you’re trying to defend using rose quartz?
